Research has shown that the built environment has an astounding effect on our daily lives. Architects, designers and engineers, therefore, play a significant role and have a responsibility in protecting, maintaining and enhancing our health and wellbeing. Although various architecture, construction and interior design projects have previously addressed this and placed physical and psychological occupant health at the centre of their designs, such concepts need to be further ingrained (Capolongo, 2014). An interdisciplinary approach needs to be taken and the integration of biological and psychological sciences needs to become commonplace in such fields; which need to be perceived as generators of a flourishing life...
